What Do You Do When The World Hands You More Alone Time Than You Know What To Do With?
If you’re me, you do the thing you’ve been thinking and talking about for ages: you finally launch your website!
You also pop up around town as inconspicuously as possible in your favorite outfits and teach yourself how to take stylish self-timed photos to add to that website. You might look and feel a little silly, but you’re also likely to have a lot of fun along the way!
And if you’re really gonna go for it, you hit publish while the site’s still in development, because you know if you wait until it’s just right, it’ll never go live!
Can you relate? Are you working on any passion projects? Tell me about them and include links, if so!
It’s Fitting That The Site Launch With This Picture Too
I bought this dress at theCURVYcon last year, right after I saw it in the Target 20th Anniversary Collection fashion show. There were lots of beautiful pieces, but this one called out to the preppy teenager in me who dreamed of building a career in fashion, being a regular at NY Fashion Week and taking home the pieces that spoke to her the most.
In this case, the style, the colors, the crisp flirtiness – they all said this was for me. And it was an Isaac Mizrahi… I’ve swooned over Isaac’s work for years. I remember when his original Target collaboration debuted and I would have snapped up pieces in a heartbeat, but they didn’t come in my size. This time, that wasn’t the case! It felt so wonderful to shop a more inclusive collection and be able to select from everything that was presented.
Wearing this dress as I step into a desire that’s been percolating for decades feels meaningful and special, and it excites me to see how the fashion world is evolving.
There’s still work to do, though. Everyone should be able to feel excited about what they wear, regardless of their size. As the fashion industry assesses how to move forward in these challenging times, I hope they will keep that in mind and strive for true inclusion.

I am so loving getting to see and celebrate you here! What you said resonates deeply with me – to be on the inside, celebrating beautifully designed pieces that capture our eyes and hearts, instead of being on the outside, with our noses smooshed up to the window, wanting what we are pretty sure we can never have..:that is such a powerful dynamic which is shifting. I’m sure your voice will add to the movement galvanizing this belief and certitude that EVERYONE deserves to feel excited about what they wear. Celebrating you and all you stand for!
With love,
